When you ask the residents of Evansville, Indiana where they reside, the answer is inconsistent. Some refer to this region, situated near an oxbow in the Ohio River, as part of the South; others identify the area as part of the Midwest. As historically significant as it is environmentally toxic, this 'River City' is undeniably at odds with itself. The photographs in this work examine this centrally-located, right-of-center place.
